Tutor Rescue

I call this spoke of my business wheel, Tutor Rescue. And that’s exactly what it is. I can come to your home and turn what looks like a hopeless situation into an empowering one in which the student knows and feels responsible for. I use my training in music, development, education, and motivation to put the child back into the ‘drivers seat’ for their own educational goals.

Forcing a child to learn just for the sake of learning is a dead end street. I use my experience with children as a seasoned mentor to establish a relationship with his or her uniqueness. By identifying each child’s core motivational structure, belief systems, and fears, a Tutor Rescue course gets to the heart of the underlying difficulities at school and elsewhere and handles these difficulities from the root up — creating a comprehenseive tutoring strategy.

The point being: Most people try to teach to the test or just hammer in the subject matter. I teach individually to your child. I have a proven track record with Expanding Horizons Behavorial Services as well as Carmen J Aponte Behavioral Services before that. I have also taught overseas in Korea, hold a BA in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Phsychology from the University of Central Florida and have been educating for over 10 years. I will consult with you and your child for free to determine if I can help and what would be my course of action for helping. If your child is at his or her wits end and you are in the Orlando area, I am probably who you should be calling.

Rates are a on sliding scale according to family income. I do this in order to provide services to everyone who needs them. I also do this in order to provide services for my own family who needs them.

Family Income and Rate scale:

Under $20,000 per year: $8 per hour

$20,000 to 30,000 per year: $15 per hour

$30,000 to 40,000 per year: $25 per hour

$40,000 and up: $35 per hour & up

Minimum session is 2 hours and there are possible requests for mileage reimbursement depending on meeting locations. Generally anything over 15 miles roundtrip will prompt me to discuss this. Once again, the sliding scale does apply. $1 per mile over 15 is the starting point and it decreases in price depending on your family income.
